Purpose

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to explain how bio-oil.com ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, shares, and otherwise processes your personal data when you visit our website. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and protecting your personal data.

Data We Collect

You may visit our site anonymously although cookies are used to identify your session. These cookies and similar tracking technologies collect and process only non-personally identifiable data. We collect personally identifiable data (such as your name, last name and email address) when you voluntarily submit an inquiry via the Contact form, only for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect:

  • To ensure the website operates as intended.
  • To improve website functionality and remember your preferences for an enhanced browsing experience.
  • To analyze visitor interactions and gather metrics for analytics.
  • To respond to contact enquiries.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

How We Use Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit to help users navigate efficiently and perform certain functions. Cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to operate properly are allowed to be set without your permission. All other cookies need to be approved before they can be set in the browser. You can withdraw or modify your consent at any time.

Essential Cookies

Essential (or strictly necessary) cookies allow core website functionality such as data protection. The website cannot be used properly without these cookies.

Non-essential cookies

The non-essential cookies we use are classified as performance cookies. Performance cookies, also known as analytics cookies, collect data about how a website is performing and how users interact with it. They do not collect personally identifiable information.

How To Manage Cookies

You can configure your internet browser to warn you each time a cookie is being sent or to refuse cookies completely.

Removing cookies from your device

You can delete all cookies that are already on your device by clearing the browsing history of your browser. This will remove all cookies from all websites you have visited. Be aware though that you may also lose some saved information (e.g. site preferences).

Managing site-specific cookies

For more detailed control over site-specific cookies, check the privacy and cookie settings in your browser.

Blocking cookies

You can set most modern browsers to prevent any cookies being placed on your device, but you may then have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site or page, and some services and functionalities may not work properly or at all.

How We Share Your Data

We will not share your personal data with any third parties other than those outlined below, unless required by law.

Google

The Bio‑Oil website uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect against bots. The website also uses functions of the Google Analytics service. General information about the processing and protection of your data by Google can be found at this link.

Contracted Bio‑Oil distributors

When you submit a Contact form, your inquiry and the personal data provided (i.e. name, last name, email address and any details you share in your message) are forwarded to the authorized Bio‑Oil distributor for your selected country/territory, so that they can respond to your inquiry. Your consent or agreement to such processing is considered given when you provide and submit the information. Once your data is forwarded to the distributor, they become the independent data controller for your personal information. Our distributors are contracted to process your personal data responsibly and in compliance with applicable data protection and privacy laws.

Data Retention

We will retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. We retain a record of Contact form submissions, however the data in the name, last name and email address fields is removed from the record after 30 days.
